One
of the biggest factual errors concerning the Del-Aires is to who was
actually in the group. So let's clear that up first.
Lead
singer Ronnie Linares, bassist Gary Robert Jones, guitarist (plus
keyboards and sax) Bobby Osborne and drummer John Becker
constituted the rock band from New Jersey.
It's
long been wrongly believed that Edward Earle and Wilfred Holcombe
were part of the band. (I
was just as guilty as the rest of you.) These two contributed
some songs for The
Horror of Party Beach including "Joy
Ride," "Summer
Love" and "The
Zombie Stomp."
As
far as I know, the group only made this one film appearance but it
is their contribution that adds so much enjoyment to that
stink-burger and help catapult it directly in to my top ten movies
of all time.
